Training event FAQs

How can I pay for training

The best way is through the event website using a credit card. If your agency would prefer to invoice Reducing Crime LLC for the training, please contact info@reducingcrime.com to make these arrangements. At present we do not accept PayPal.

Are there discounts for group bookings?

Yes. Contact info@reducingcrime.com for details.

Do you ever cancel a training course?
We do everything possible to avoid cancelling training courses. Severe weather or instructor illness could require cancellation. Also, we have a minimum number of participants necessary to make a training course viable. Training programs will not be cancelled due to the minimum number of participants issue within two weeks of a course date. In the rare event that your course is cancelled, you will get a full refund of the training cost. We are not able to offer any other compensation.

Are any meals provided for per diem calculations?

No. Participants receive an hour for lunch but no meals are provided.

What is the daily schedule?

Generally police departments tend to run training programs early, so the daily schedule is 8.30am to 4.30pm with an hour for lunch. The exact timings for lunch and daily closing depend on where the training reaches for that day.

What is your refund policy?
If you cancel your registration at least two weeks prior to the start of your course, you will receive a full refund (minus a $75 credit card and materials processing fee).

Any hotel recommendations?
For each training course, an email to registered participants before the training may identify a couple of local hotels. However because most participants are able to access government rates, the onus is on the participant to organize their own travel and hotel arrangements to suit their personal and agency requirements.

Is training available in Spanish?

Training materials and the workbooks are available in Spanish; however the instructor is not a Spanish speaker and any training course would require real-time translation. Please contact info@reducingcrime.com to make these arrangements. The course text "Reducing Crime: A Companion for Police Leaders" will be available in Spanish in early 2020.

Is the training POST eligible?

This course is certified for 20 hours POST training qualification by IADLEST as part of the National Certification Program (NCP certification number 19190-1906). This certification applies to 35 states (see IADLEST for details of which states accept the NCP). In Pennsylvania, the course is similarly certified by MPOETC (CLEE number CLE01368).

What is the dress requirement?

Casual. Be comfortable. Uniform not required.
